Daily use of the Orthoapnea® appliance
Orthoapnea® reduces the symptoms of snoring and sleep apnea. In case of difficulty in breathing while using the appliance please contact your doctor.
You could note a mild discomfort of the mandible or teeth during the first days of use of Orthoapnea®. This occurs only temporarily until you have got used to your Orthoapnea appliance. In case of remaining of this discomfort please contact your doctor.
In case of feeling a strange sensation of your bite, please use the bite stabilisator to correct the position of your mandible. This change is caused by the advancement of the mandible during the night.
How to place the Orthoapnea® appliance!
Positioning of the upper part:
Use your thumbs to push the splint from the bottom to snap it over the teeth and make sure that it fits correctly.
Positioning of the lower part:
Push the splint downwards to both sides onto the molars.
Please relax carefully the mandible once the Orthoapnea® is placed correctly.
How to take out the Orthoapnea appliance!
Take the inferior splint out by pushing it slightly upwards. Now you can continue with the lower splint by pushing it downwards with your thumbs.
Which purpose has the bite stabilisator?
The bite stabilisator is used to put your jaw back into the normal bite position, after using the Orthoapnea appliance several hours.
Therefore you could have the sensation that your bite position has changed. The bite stabilisator serves to adjust the mandible to its original position.
