» You are here » The Problem » Circadian rhythm disorders » Jet-Lag
It is the most common and servereless circadian rithm alteration. It is a lost of synchronization provocated by a change of time zone during a journey between two differents parts of the world. This disadjustment affetcs the circadian mechanisms. It is characterized by alternancy of sleep-wake circumstances in unpropper moments, low performance, and tiredness. The grade of this alteration is directly proportional to the transmeridional travel distance, what means that travelling to the west enlarge our circadian rythm and our organism adapts better than to the inverse effect of shortening the cycle caused by the journey to the east. It is a temporary symptom and the readjustment time has its maximun in six days.
